Our Story

Our names are Taylor Jaye & Daniel and we are incredibly excited to announce our new salon: C.P. LaBarge Salon! We are proud to be located in the heart of the Lincoln Park Craft District and be a member of this great community that has grown exponentially in recent years. Our space was once Darlene’s Hairstylists, a haven for beauty in Duluth for the last 50 years.

Taylor Jaye has had a passion for beauty since she was a girl and started styling hair for prom when she was in middle school. She has been a licensed cosmetologist since 2016 and has seen her career flourish in only a short period of time. Taylor owns Mixed Beauty, a microblading studio, that she opened up in 2019 where she specializes in several microblading techniques as well as paramedical tattoos, lip blushing, and eyelash enhancements. Daniel’s background is in science, most recently working at the School of Medicine at UMD as a researcher. C.P. LaBarge Salon is named in honor of his mother: Catherine Phyllis LaBarge.

Taylor has worked at salons across Duluth but finally found her home at Darlene’s. So when the opportunity was given to us to buy the salon and carry on its legacy, it was an easy decision. We hope to become a fixture of Lincoln Park and, Duluth as a whole.
